Art in the Woods

Saturday 26th August 2017

Moving to our little cottage site has put the lovely woods of Craigmillar Hill into focus for us . We are going to spend the day in here exploring. It is home to a lovely avenue of Chestnut Trees and we also have our own little woodland garden of Cherry and Elm to discover.

We will spend a day exploring the process of transforming drawings and colour studies into paintings.

You will leave with a robust little painting under your arm and the hard won drawings and colour explorations that are your route map of how you arrived there . We will be atop of the hill with our   Castle in sight . There are super views down the Forth . If you have stood in front of French Impressionist paintings and felt the sunlight emanate and the wind blow. We will guide you through the process on a hill in Little France.

We will provide a delicious vegetarian lunch and warm drinks and snacks throughout the day. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

We will meet onsite with everyone making their own way there either by car or public transport.
