Spoons, Spurtles & Spatulas, Green Woodworking Weekend

Saturday 28th January 2017 – Sunday 29th January 2017

Green hub site, Edinburgh

Over this two day course at our leafy hub site, we will introduce you to the processes involved in carving small items such as spoons, spurtles and spatulas from green wood.

You should come away from the event with one or two items that you have made having had a full introduction to the art of carving ‘treen’. You don’t need to have previous experience of green woodworking or of using carving tools – we provide all the tuition you’ll need as well as all the equipment. We’ll take you through the theory of green woodworking, the traditional techniques and different tools and will spend most of the weekend actually carving and creating objects of your own design.

We will provide a delicious vegetarian lunch and warm drinks and snacks throughout the day both days. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.

We are asking everyone to meet at our Edinburgh “hub” in central Edinburgh at 10am each day and we should finish up around 5pm.
