New Caledonian Woodlands is a charity with two primary aims rooted at our core: to encourage environmental sustainability and to support people to improve their mental well-being.
Integrity: Always being true to our core mission and to our values.
Contribution: Enabling people to achieve positive change.
Connection: Deepening relationships with people and with the planet.
Experiential: Learning that engages the whole person.
Warmth: Personable and sensitive – a warm welcome and a fond farewell.
Courageous: A willingness to be brave – to stand by our values to achieve amazing things.
Inclusive: Welcoming diversity and empowering people to flourish.
Enterprising: Visionary and forward thinking in the pursuit of environmental and financial sustainability.
We deliver ‘planet projects’ focused on encouraging people to migrate towards greener lifestyles and ‘people projects’ focused on supporting adults experiencing mental ill-health and social isolation towards improved well-being, more active lives and employment.
Whether planting new woodland or managing old ones, making furniture from trees felled by hand, pressing hand-picked apples for juice or learning more about our environmental impact and how to reduce it, New Caledonian Woodlands is busy in the woods most days – working with over 1,000 people per year.
